What to check before buying

• Capacity. Multi-flavour bodies are larger; check the puff rating before comparing price with a single-flavour device.
• Switching mechanism. Dial, slider or button — a mechanical dial is less prone to accidental switching than a button.
• Battery. Four or six flavours means longer use, so rechargeable models are usually worth the extra cost.
• Display. On higher-capacity units, a screen showing flavour and battery level prevents the guesswork that generates support messages.
